About The Position

Companion aides provide companionship, engage clients in activities, maintain a safe home environment, perform light housekeeping, assist with laundry, provide transportation, plan and prepare meals, assist with personal care supervision, monitor client condition, and document services. This role is for Per Diem companion aides working in-person at senior living communities.

Requirements

• Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess a compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship through conversation, reading, and active listening.
• Engage clients in recreational activities and hobbies for social stimulation.
• Maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
• Perform light housekeeping duties (dusting sweeping, mopping).
• Assist with laundry and linens (washing, folding, ironing).
• Provide transportation and additional assistance (appointments, shopping, social visits, other errands) using the resident’s vehicle.
• Plan and prepare meals based on dietary needs/instructions and preferences.
• Assist with personal care supervision (bathing, toileting, dressing).
• Monitor and report changes in client condition or behavior.
• Accurately document services provided according to company policies.
