About The Position

Compact Construction Equipment Sales Representative (John Deere Large Construction & Forestry Equipment Industry) for the Buffalo Territory. This is a full-time, exempt position with a Monday-Friday work schedule. The role involves driving sales, rental, and leasing of John Deere CCE, building customer relationships through consistent calls and visits, demonstrating equipment, presenting solutions, and expanding market share by identifying opportunities and securing new business. The representative will also promote value-added services, track leads in the CRM system, monitor competitor activity, and represent the company at various events. Collaboration with Parts, Service, and Support Teams is essential to deliver full-service solutions. Five Star Equipment is a John Deere Construction & Forestry leader in Northern Pennsylvania and New York, focused on delivering premium products and fostering a culture of integrity, teamwork, and growth.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of proven outside sales success in a competitive industry (equipment sales preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Ability to operate and demonstrate compact construction equipment.
  • Flexibility to travel across the territory and work in varied environmental conditions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass background screening.

  • Background in construction, forestry, or related industries a plus.
  • Strong communication, consultative sales, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales, rental, and leasing of John Deere CCE across your territory.
  • Build relationships through consistent customer calls, visits, and consultative selling.
  • Demonstrate equipment, present solutions, and tailor specifications to client needs.
  • Expand market share by identifying opportunities and securing new business.
  • Promote value-added services such as preventative maintenance and repair programs.
  • Track leads, activity, and mileage in the company’s CRM system.
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide insights to sales leadership.
  • Represent Five Star Equipment at sales meetings, trainings, and customer events.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Parts, Service, and Support Teams to deliver full-service solutions.
