Community Support Worker
About The Position
Stavros is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Support Worker to join our TAKE CHARGE program. TAKE CHARGE is a brief, scalable psychological intervention developed to help individuals manage stress, strengthen coping skills, and improve day-to-day functioning. The Community Support Worker will deliver TAKE CHARGE sessions, provide practical problem-solving assistance, and support participants using evidence-informed strategies in a community-based setting. Training will be provided on the TAKE CHARGE curriculum and approach.
Requirements
- Experience working with people with disabilities and/or identify as having a disability.
- Strong communication, empathy, and active listening skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and support individuals with diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to the Independent Living philosophy.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
- Deliver TAKE CHARGE sessions to individuals in the community, following program guidelines and training.
- Provide emotional support and practical guidance to help participants manage stress, solve problems, and strengthen coping skills.
- Maintain accurate documentation and case notes in accordance with agency and program requirements.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, clinician, and other team members to ensure high-quality support.
- Conduct community outreach to identify and engage potential participants for the TAKE CHARGE program.
