About The Position

As a Community Support Specialist, you’ll be on the front lines of client care, offering behavioral and socially rehabilitative services that help people lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. You’ll work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and provide the support they need in key areas such as emotional wellbeing, finances, social life, and career goals. You’ll also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure every client gets the comprehensive care they deserve.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Psychology, Social Work, relevant human services field, Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support, or the equivalent in a combination of a degree, college course work and experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Ability to evaluate program outcomes.
  • Ability to work with multicultural staff and clientele.
  • Must be willing and able to meet with clientele in the community.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and pass MVR criteria (if driving is a requirement).

Responsibilities

  • Offer behavioral and socially rehabilitative services.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their unique needs.
  • Provide support in key areas such as emotional wellbeing, finances, social life, and career goals.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive client care.
  • Meet with clientele in the community to include, but not limited to, community gathering spaces, Drop-In Centers and homes.
  • Obtain an approved Benefits Planning certification within 12 months of employment if working in the Employment Services department.
  • Complete training as directed through orientation and/or by Leadership, Management or Educators in the established timeline for continued employment.
