About The Position

Lifetime Assistance is seeking a Part-Time Community Support Professional to join their Community Services department. This role involves providing one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and in the community. Requirements

Valid and clean NYS driver’s license.
Reliable personal vehicle.
Meet agency Motor Vehicle Operating Requirements.
Prior experience is preferred (OPWDD, OMH, CNA, or home-based support).
Experience with dual diagnosis, mental health needs, and verbal aggression management is valued.
Self-starter capable of independently finding resources and solving problems quickly.
Comfortable assisting individuals with developmental disabilities and adapting to their changing needs.
Highly responsive and communicative, even while working remotely in the field.
Part-time availability between 8 AM – 8 PM.
Flexibility is key.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one support in the community, working independently in individuals’ homes.
Assist with daily living tasks such as grocery shopping, meal preparation, and budgeting.
Transport individuals to appointments or community events using a personal vehicle.
Manage verbal escalation and crisis situations calmly and effectively.
Act as a professionally direct mentor, ensuring safety and compliance.
Maintain high standards for detail-oriented documentation and safety expectations.
