About The Position

Lifetime Assistance is seeking a Community Support Professional to foster independence, dignity, and respect for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role is more than a job; it's an opportunity to transform lives. The position is community-based in Rochester, NY, offering full-time employment (30-40 hours per week) with flexible scheduling between 8 am and 8 pm. The starting wage is $19.49 - $20.52 per hour, with mileage reimbursement and a $1,000 welcome bonus for eligible new hires.

Requirements

Valid and clean NYS driver’s license.
Reliable personal vehicle.
Must meet agency Motor Vehicle Operating Requirements.
Prior experience is preferred (OPWDD, OMH, CNA, or home-based support).
Experience with dual diagnosis, mental health needs, and verbal aggression management is valued.
Self-starter who can independently find resources and solve problems quickly.
Comfortable assisting individuals with developmental disabilities and adapting to their changing needs.
Highly responsive and communicative, even while working remotely in the field.
Part-time availability between 8 AM – 8 PM.
Flexibility is key.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one support in the community, working independently in individuals’ homes.
Assist with daily living tasks such as grocery shopping, meal preparation, and budgeting.
Transport individuals to appointments or community events using a personal vehicle.
Manage verbal escalation and crisis situations calmly and effectively.
Act as a professionally direct mentor, ensuring safety and compliance.
Maintain high standards for detail-oriented documentation and safety expectations.
