About The Position

Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for over 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff. Summary: The Fatherhood Success Coach provides case management and coaching to fathers participating in the Fatherhood Connections program. This role helps fathers develop essential life skills, including time management, communication, stress management, parenting, and work-related skills, to support their growth as parents and progress in employment. The position includes facilitating fatherhood groups using the evidence-based Nurturing Fathers Curriculum, providing constructive feedback on fathers' progress, and coordinating services with referral agencies to promote self-sufficiency. Services are delivered in the home, community, and workplace, and the role requires travel within the community, flexible hours including evenings, and occasional weekend work.

Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma and 3 years' experience in workforce development, social services, vocational rehabilitation, counseling, or another helping profession; OR Associate Degree and 2 years' related experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 1 year related experience
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Ability to train and mentor adults in individual and group settings.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to provide multiple intervention types, integrate CQI and Sanctuary Principles, and maintain professionalism.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of agency mission, policies, and procedures.
  • Exhibit teamwork, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Strive to improve personal and agency performance.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred : Higher degree or enrollment in relevant coursework
  • Experience working with individuals facing multiple barriers to employment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic records management.
  • Those eligible to drive company vehicles must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage as defined by the agency commercial insurance carrier.
  • Those who drive personal vehicles in the course of business must be able to provide proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Outreach and Engagement Attend community events and meetings to recruit fathers into the program.
  • Facilitate Fatherhood 101 orientations to provide an overview of program services and father responsibilities.
  • Assist fathers with initial eligibility documentation.
  • Collaborate with community partners and internal staff to help fathers overcome barriers (e.g., legal, transportation, housing).
  • Assessment and Service Planning Conduct needs and barrier assessments at enrollment.
  • Evaluate factors impacting participation and employment, including education, work history, family dynamics, domestic violence, emotional stability, substance use, transportation, disability, learning style, and health.
  • Develop, monitor, and update Individual Service Strategies (ISS) to help fathers meet parenting and employment goals.
  • Skill Development Facilitate the Nurturing Fathers Curriculum and other parenting skills groups.
  • Provide individualized mentoring and coaching to address barriers to effective parenting.
  • Support educational and vocational skill development, including GED, tutoring, online training, job search, and employment readiness.
  • Document service interventions and outcomes in electronic records.
  • Case Management Maintain regular contact with fathers, including at least two significant monthly contacts, to support engagement and progress.
  • Provide intensive case management, vocational guidance, coaching, tutoring, referrals, and service bridging.
  • Advocate for fathers with referral sources and community partners.
  • Prepare progress reports, maintain up-to-date files, and ensure compliance with grant and agency standards.
  • Transport clients as needed for program activities and employment support.
  • Participate in team meetings to review cases and program objectives.
  • Follow-Up and Program Completion Provide follow-up after fatherhood groups to support goal attainment and barrier resolution.
  • Make referrals to additional community services as appropriate.
  • Complete program discharges in accordance with agency policies and client needs.
  • Additional Duties Uphold the agency's mission, vision, and values through professional conduct and service delivery
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
