About The Position

The Community Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating initiatives across Philadelphia, including but not limited to Re-Entry, Opioid/Recovery, and Community Services. This role provides direct leadership and accountability for a team of Community Workforce Connectors, ensuring consistent service delivery, strong communication across leadership, and high-quality program outcomes. The Coordinator serves as the primary liaison for community partners, including but not limited to libraries, recovery programs, Philadelphia Works, and other stakeholders. This is a highly demanding role that requires strong oversight, the ability to hold staff accountable, and flexibility to adjust schedules and priorities based on operational needs. The Coordinator is expected to actively manage daily operations, ensure alignment across teams and leadership, and step in as needed to support service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human services, education, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in workforce development, re-entry services, recovery/behavioral health programs, or community engagement.
  • Prior experience supervising or leading a team with a strong focus on accountability and performance management.
  • Knowledge of workforce systems, including WIOA programs and challenges related to re-entry and recovery populations.
  • Strong skills in reporting, data quality assurance, and project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital tools.
  • Valid driver’s license recommended, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally.
  • Strong ability to adapt, problem-solve, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, including the ability to maintain clear and consistent communication across teams and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and hold a team of Community Workforce Connectors accountable to performance expectations, service delivery, and professional standards.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, weekly team meetings, including documenting discussions and tracking progress on action items.
  • Address performance concerns directly and consistently, ensuring expectations are communicated and upheld across the team.
  • Assign tasks, manage schedules, and ensure consistent coverage across all sites, including adjusting staffing based on operational demands.
  • Maintain clear and ongoing communication with leadership, ensuring alignment, transparency, and timely updates on program operations, challenges, and staffing needs.
  • Oversee service delivery across all program areas, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with program goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, including libraries, recovery programs, educational institutions, and employers—while conducting regular on-site visits to assess operations, strengthen partnerships, and ensure alignment with organizational standards and objectives.
  • Lead and manage partner meetings, ensuring clear agendas, facilitation of discussion, and timely follow-up.
  • Create and distribute meeting recaps following partner meetings, outlining key discussions, decisions, and action items.
  • Ensure a team of Community Workforce Connectors attends scheduled community events, workshops, and outreach activities as required.
  • Require a team of Community Workforce Connectors to complete and submit event recaps following each engagement, including key outcomes, attendance, and follow-up actions.
  • Ensure a team of Community Workforce Connectors is actively managing partner relationships and responding to participant and partner needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify service gaps and implement solutions to improve program delivery and community impact.
  • Ensure all reporting and data entry across all service areas are accurate, complete, and submitted on time, including case notes, participant tracking, and program outcomes.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on data and documentation, addressing discrepancies immediately.
  • Hold a team of Community Workforce Connectors accountable for documentation standards, including timely and thorough case notes and communication.
  • Review and quality-check event recaps submitted by Community Workforce Connectors for accuracy and completeness, while ensuring all event-related data and documentation are timely uploaded and well-organized in SharePoint in alignment with program expectations.
  • Hold a team of Community Workforce Connectors accountable for timely submission of event documentation and accurate reporting of engagement activities.
  • Generate reports for internal leadership, partners, and funding sources, including Labor Exchange/WIOA compliance and audit requirements.
  • Prepare and organize documentation for file audits, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Monitor program performance, analyze outcomes, and make data-driven decisions to improve operations.
  • Take on additional operational responsibilities as needed to ensure programs run effectively and meet organizational goals.
