Under the general direction of the manager or supervisor, the community program assistant supports the front and back office needs of the department/program. The assistant performs receptionist, secretarial, chart management, filing and program duties for the department. Activities may include answering phones, greeting and processing patients and their visitors, scheduling appointments either through the physician's office or directly with the patient. In addition the community program assistant is responsible for scheduling all appointments in the computer system as well as responsible for all charges.
