About The Position

WCAC’s Resiliency Center offers programming intended to educate, empower, and connect people to community resources and financial opportunities to support them in a holistic, client-centered approach to reach their self-identified goals meeting individuals and families where they are with warm, supported resources and referral services. We are seeking a Community Resource Navigator to assist individuals and families with navigation through public benefit eligibility and connection to needed community resources, resulting in improved access to basic needs and progress toward economic mobility. The Community Resource Navigator will work closely with the Resiliency Center team, including the Financial Empowerment Director and Financial Empowerment Coaches, to avoid the cliff effect, and wil report to the Resiliency Center Director.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or HiSet equivalent required.
  • Experience working with individuals and families in social/human services or related fields.
  • Knowledge of Central Massachusetts area community resources preferred.
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written.
  • Ability to learn Agency program eligibilities, as well as community-wide resource eligibilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals, families, agency program staff, and community partners.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; highly positive and empathetic style; strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work respectfully and effectively with a diverse group of program participants and in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn and utilize program participants in tracking software.
  • Ability to successfully complete a CORI/SORI review.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Community Health Worker Certification (within 6 months of hire).
  • Complete the Mobility Mentoring Foundations course or complete a certificate in Mobility Mentoring Foundations.

  • Bachelor's degree a plus.
  • Bilingual ability preferred.
  • Ability to drive an Agency van preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals and families with navigation through public benefit eligibility and connection to needed community resources, resulting in improved access to basic needs and progress toward economic mobility.
  • Work closely with the Resiliency Center team, including the Financial Empowerment Director and Financial Empowerment Coaches, to avoid the cliff effect.
  • Consistent travel to other WCAC office locations and community partner locations.
  • Actively participate in foundational and continuous learning opportunities to uphold WCAC's client-centered ethos and implement Mobility Mentoring-informed tools and practices.
