About The Position

The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. The Community Resource Coordinator will provide operational and administrative leadership in partnership with the Aging Services Program Director. This position will manage daily program operations, develop program policy/procedure and conduct program assessment and evaluation. In addition, the Community Resource Coordinator will assist with community outreach and engagement activities meant to promote food security, housing security, socialization, financial security, and health access. The Community Resource Coordinator will work on a team to facilitate community needs assessment, food pantry distribution, outreach and wellness checks, and other program activities and initiatives.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma requires
  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • CPR certified and AED/first Aid Certified or be willing to attend both trainings
  • Experience and success working in partnership with an aging community, residents, and community organizations.
  • Success at managing a wide array of tasks and projects and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Experience with and interest in working with community members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work select weekends and to occasionally adjust hours to accommodate the needs of the role and programming.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Chinese is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain systems to track purchases, deliveries, and inventory management and control.
  • Provide administrative support and leadership to staff, and widespread support of client needs, ensuring that daily program operations are well-managed.
  • Provide effective task and process supervision to direct reports.
  • Assist with scheduling, planning, implementing, managing, and evaluating current programs, projects, dedicated events, and outreach.
  • Manage and update program budgets to ensure that the program is operating within budget parameters and able to meet targeted goals.
  • Suggest mechanisms including surveys, and other ways for communicating with, and receiving feedback from the membership and community.
  • Identify, cultivate, and strengthen existing and new relationships with members and community participants through constant communication and interaction.
  • Recommend and/or execute systems for the internal and external evaluation of programs and initiatives.
  • Effectively respond to program related inquiries from the members, staff, and the community.
  • Perform data entry to support the flow of data and statistics for internal reporting and contract requirements.
  • Oversee food pantry programs between Isaacs and Goddard Riverside Community Center
  • Manage online ordering system for food pantries
  • Coordinate equitable registration process for accessing pantry
  • Supervise team of Part time and Full-time workers.
  • Assist with packaging and distribution of pantry items
  • Support Aging Services program needs such as telephone reassurance, shopping assistance, and more.
