About The Position

Centene is seeking a Community Relations Specialist to lead community outreach and marketing efforts to grow membership and enrollment. This role involves organizing events, managing retention initiatives, networking with partners and vendors, and identifying new market opportunities. The specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing various activities such as meetings, presentations, training sessions, and community events. They will also develop and maintain business relationships to increase enrollment targets and represent the department in various internal and external meetings. Additionally, the role involves acting as a liaison for market materials, managing key projects, and collaborating with management on policy and procedure documentation. The specialist will prospect for field marketing events and grassroots lead generation opportunities, coordinate with the sales team, and may develop plans to increase "crossover" enrollment and assist in outreach activities. The position requires compliance with all company policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
  • 3+ years sales/marketing experience, preferably with government products.
  • Health insurance or managed care experience preferred.
  • Candidates must live in SW Territory/Counties - Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania, and Wahkiakum.
  • Driver’s License required.
  • Life and Health License (can be obtained within 90 days of employment) – If required by the Business Unit/Department.
  • Must be willing to travel within assigned territory.

Responsibilities

  • Lead community outreach and marketing to grow membership/enrollment through events, retention efforts, and partner/vendor networking.
  • Identify new market and business opportunities.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and conduct events including meetings, presentations, activities, training, product orientations, focus groups, field marketing events, and projects.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships and information to increase membership/enrollment targets.
  • Represent the department at internal and external meetings, including vendor reporting, departmental, cross-functional, community, and provider meetings.
  • Develop presentations for sales, broker product training, member retention meetings, new member training, and outreach activities.
  • Act as department liaison for market materials, collateral rollouts, inventory, and reports.
  • Act as point person on key projects.
  • Work with management to develop department workflow policy and procedure documentation for strategy and planning, and for reviewing product, collaterals, and sales strategies.
  • Prospect and initiate opportunities for field marketing events, grassroots lead generation, provider co-op events, and other community venues.
  • Coordinate with the sales team for successful market execution.
  • May develop plans to increase “crossover” enrollment.
  • May assist in outreach activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
