About The Position

For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States. NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP). Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an "at-will" relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee. PLEASE NOTE: An "Enrollee" is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An "Enrollee" is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions. Responsibilities

  • Provides support and professional expertise in community planning, partnerships and project management.
  • Identifies, plans, and implements actions which result in the improved management of resources within park boundaries.
  • Reviews local, state and county land use, recreation, and transportation planning in the context of the CRNRA General Management Plan and Trails Plan to guide and advise determinations of substantial conformance with these documents.
  • Consults with gateway communities to engage partners and coordinate external projects.
  • Participates in the park compliance team, providing input regarding the impacts of certain actions on the park resource values and advises and supports compliance procedures in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).
  • Coordinates relationships and consultation with multiple park partners, including gateway communities, required Federal agencies (Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Highway Administration, and EPA), state environmental agencies (DNR, DCA, and EPD), and community groups, including Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, the park friends group, and the RiverLands Chattahoochee Working Group.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to develop and grow productive partnerships to further the recommendations in the CRNRA Trails Plan.
  • Serves as project manager on the full range of planning studies, including site management plans, general management plan amendments, special resource studies, and other plans and studies as required. Project management would include preparing scopes of work and monitoring the technical and budgetary elements of the project in addition to reviewing deliverables and advising park management.
