The Community Pharmacy Technician II supports all aspects of the prescription preparation process including compounding, preparation, and dispensing. This also includes greeting the patient, collecting information, entering patient data, processing claims, and referring inquiries that are out of the scope of the PDT’s license to a supervising pharmacist. The Community Pharmacy Technician II assists in maintaining pharmaceutical inventory and supplies through ordering, receiving, stocking and record keeping. Community Pharmacy technicians work under the direction supervision of registered pharmacists. Pharmacy technicians do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Florida registered pharmacy technicians are governed by Section 465.014, Florida Statutes, and Rule 64B16-26.103, 64B16.350, 64B16-26.351, 64B16-27.410, 64B16-27.420 and, Florida Administrative Code.
