About The Position

Baptist Health is looking for a part-time PRN Community/Retail Pharmacy Tech to join our Pharmacy Team! As a floater, you will work at the Louisville, Lagrange, New Albany, IN, Breckenridge and Bardstown community pharmacy locations. Performs all functions and duties with the patient at the center, ensuring prompt and friendly service in the Community Pharmacy. Performs all tasks associated with the filling and dispensing of community prescriptions, including computer order entry, updating patient information, filling and labeling prescriptions, and completing transactions at the point of sale. Delivery of medications to discharging patients per Pharmacist’s requests. Completes prescriber outreach for prescription refills under direct pharmacist supervision. Assists with scheduling and coordinating home delivery for prescriptions. Assists in inventory management processes, including order review, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory preparation. Ability to prioritize workflow by patient impact and ensure that all assigned tasks are completed at the end of the shift. Performs simple nonsterile compounding per current USP<795> guidelines and as permitted by state law under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Assists in training new staff when assigned. Escalates all identified problems or patient complaints, if they cannot be corrected by the employee, to the Pharmacist. Attends and contributes to the content of meetings and committees as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency is required.
  • Registration with Kentucky and/or Indiana Board of Pharmacy will be required before or on the date of hire (only an application and fee).
  • Must be willing and available to travel as needed.

  • Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred.
