About The Position

This is a Part Time Community Pharmacist position. The role involves working with Pharmacy personnel to compound and dispense medications and other pharmaceutical supplies using standard procedures to deliver comprehensive professional pharmaceutical service in a modern hospital setting. Responsibilities may include purchasing, continuing education programs, stocking supplies for night stock, preparing various departmental reports, and other tasks to maintain an organized and efficient department. The position is in the Outpatient/Community Pharmacy.

Requirements

Must possess current license as required by state board where services will be provided (MD, OH, PA, WV).
Familiarity with professional and commercial phases of Hospital Pharmacy.
Familiarity with State and Federal laws governing Pharmacy.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Hospital Pharmacy through internship or as registered Pharmacist.
Previous outpatient pharmacy experience is preferred.
Computer experience helpful.

Responsibilities

Dispenses drugs, chemicals and other pharmaceutical preparations as ordered by physicians.
Is available for pharmaceutical consultation with doctors or nurses.
Questions a prescription if necessary.
Assists the manager of Pharmacy in purchasing of drugs from vendors.
Talks with sales representatives of various pharmaceutical companies when need dictates.
Conducts drug checks and inspections on various floors as required.
Assists with the IV admixture program by checking orders for completeness, accuracy, compatibilities and providing other technical advice.
May be delegated to attend pharmacy-involved hospital meetings.
Assists the manager with the Pharmacy Quality Assurance program.
Assists the manager with the Pharmacy floor inspection reports.
Completes annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards, which may include CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.
