About The Position

Home Care Assistance is seeking a casual Personal Support Worker (PSW) for the Port Severn area. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, personal care, transportation, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication support, and providing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support. The ideal candidate is comfortable driving clients in their vehicle and has flexible availability, though open availability is an asset. AI technology is used during the recruitment process for pre-screening purposes.

Requirements

PSW certification from a public college/learning center OR additional NACC certification is required.
Caregiver, HSW, or PSW experience is required
Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license
Valid CPR/First Aid certification
Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
Satisfactory professional references
Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters

Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal care including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per client's care plan
Driving clients to outings, appointments, to run errands, etc.
Supporting client with assigned physiotherapy exercises daily
Preparing meals for client and completing light housekeeping as needed
Providing medication support and management
Providing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support
Maintaining open communication with client and their family
Monitoring care plan and adding detailed documentation with any changes and updates
Responding to all emergency situations
All other duties, as assigned
