About The Position

This position is responsible for the overall supervision of individuals served, Supervisors, and Instructors. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable state regulations and for establishing, implementing, and monitoring individualized program plans for all individuals served. Responsibilities include conducting periodic assessments, evaluating program effectiveness, and preparing required reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education, education, psychology, or a related human services field; or a minimum of 60 college credits; or at least three years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to effectively work with and relate to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of comprehensive, individualized program plans.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a supportive, caring, safe environment by attending to individual needs, respecting differences, and supporting growth and independence.
  • Training and supervision of personnel.
  • Assist in the referral process (intake, assessment, and transfer) and supervising referrals from the program for which individual has responsibility.
  • May be required to function as Program Specialist according to 55 PA Code § 2380 regulations.
  • If functioning as Program Specialist, review program participant’s program plans with Supports Coordinators on a regular basis and coordinate program participants’ programmatic supportive services.
  • Preparation of required or requested reports.
  • Responsible to ensure that all corporate policies and procedures are adhered to and conduct internal licensing inspections.
  • Supervise Instructors, including monitoring performance, new staff training and completion of Performance Evaluations.
  • Assist with payroll review.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining program participant equipment in programs for which individual has responsibility.
  • Coordinate regular staff meetings to facilitate communication and consistency of program objectives.
  • Disseminate all inter-agency correspondence, memos, and telephone communications to all assigned Instructors.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Completed a minimum of 24 hours of required training per training year, including mandatory and role-specific training.
  • Regular attendance at work.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to function as direct support on occasion to ensure ratios are met. While functioning as direct support may be required to provide personal care such as feeding, assisting in restroom, or ensuring individuals are engaged in meaningful activities.
