About The Position

This position conducts outreach on and along Parsons Avenue to engage and provide resource navigation to support people experiencing poverty and homelessness; engages with local nonprofits and businesses, and conducts regular litter pick-up on the corridor. Must be able to work flexible work schedule. Coordinates outreach efforts, engages with community stakeholders, develops partnerships, and implements strategies to increase visibility and impact. Develops and implements collaborative programs and services by working with community–based organizations and hospital staff.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in a community-based setting in areas such as health care, social service, or community service, required.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements.
• Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.
• Proficiency with written summaries and documentation.
• Working knowledge of child health care and community issues.
• Proficiency personal computers, databases, and word processing software.
• Effective customer service, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills for interaction with contacts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in a health or social services related field, or equivalent experience, preferred.
• Experience in collaborative program development, preferred.
