About The Position

The Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for leading and growing in-school and community soccer programming across the region on behalf of NCFC Youth. Using the U.S. Soccer Forward “Soccer at Schools” curriculum, this person will develop, coordinate, and implement soccer-based activities during recess, physical education (PE) classes, after-school clubs and in-school “takeover” sessions across partnering schools. The goal is to engage youth who may not otherwise have access to club soccer, to foster fun, movement, teamwork, and life skills, and to strengthen NCFC Youth’s role as a community partner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Kinesiology, Sports & Recreation Management, Youth Development, or comparable relevant experience.
  • Proven experience working with youth in schools, community settings, or sports/outreach programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written), including ability to engage with school administrators, teachers, students and community stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills; ability to manage multiple programs/projects, travel across sites, adapt to varying school schedules.
  • Self-motivated, creative, resourceful and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling throughout the region on a frequent basis.
  • Requires a background check upon offer, along with continued annual background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience delivering physical-activity or sports programming in schools or after-school settings.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. Soccer Foundation “Soccer in Schools” curriculum, or similar youth development/sport for social good frameworks.
  • Coaching or teaching certification(s); background in youth soccer or other sports.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred, given diverse school populations.
  • Experience in a non-profit or community outreach role, ideally within youth sports.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, build and sustain relationships with local schools and community organizations.
  • Negotiate and manage agreements for implementing in-school programming, after-school soccer clubs, and other outreach events.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between NCFC Youth and participating schools.
  • Represent NCFC Youth at school events, community fairs, and partner meetings.
  • Plan, adapt and deliver soccer programming for schools using the U.S. Soccer Foundation “Soccer in Schools” curriculum.
  • Design sessions for recess, PE warm-ups/takeovers, after-school soccer clubs, and special events.
  • Train, supervise and support part-time staff, coaches or volunteers who assist in delivering sessions.
  • Maintain proper session planning documents, equipment checklists, risk-management and safety protocols.
  • Collect, analyze and report on program data: number of schools partnered, sessions delivered, youth participants engaged, retention, feedback and outcomes.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior leadership on outreach program performance.
  • Use participant and school feedback to refine programming.
  • Manage scheduling of outreach sessions and logistics.
  • Oversee the inventory of equipment, maintain outreach field/back-school supplies.
  • Collaborate with NCFC Youth’s marketing/communications team to share stories of outreach impact.
  • Promote NCFC Youth’s values at all times and act as an ambassador for the club in the community.
  • Stay current with best practices in youth physical activity, youth development, coaching, outreach and the U.S. Soccer Foundation curriculum.
  • Attend trainings, workshops or certifications required by U.S. Soccer Foundation or NCFC Youth.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture within NCFC Youth outreach and broader club staff.
  • Mandatory reporter of abuse. Must report all suspected abuse within 24 hours using the Abuse Prevention Report.
