Planned Parenthood Pasadena & San Gabriel Valley (PPPSGV) is seeking a temporary Community Organizer to support its Public Affairs department from September 2026 to June 2027. This role will focus on implementing grassroots and political efforts to enhance PPPSGV's advocacy and organizing presence in its service area. The Community Organizer will develop and manage community outreach initiatives to build a progressive activist base, and recruit, engage, and mobilize targeted constituencies around reproductive rights issues. This position supports both PPPSGV (a 501(c)3 organization) and Planned Parenthood Advocates Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley (PPAPSGV) (a 501(c)4 organization). The role involves bridging relationship gaps between PPPSGV and communities in the San Gabriel Valley and Northeast Los Angeles, with an emphasis on accurate and culturally responsive messaging in multiple languages. The organizer will work with stakeholders to develop multilingual political education and advocacy campaigns, ensure programs are culturally responsive and community-informed, and build coalitions with community leaders, including youth, faith groups, businesses, and healthcare providers. The position also requires serving as a sexual and reproductive health care subject matter expert and managing get out the vote efforts. Additionally, the role involves managing grassroots activities for advocacy and electoral work, planning rapid response actions, representing PPPSGV at meetings, and supporting logistics for annual Capitol Day in Sacramento. The Community Organizer will also oversee volunteer programs in partnership with the Volunteer Manager, focusing on recruitment, training, communication, and retention. They will identify and implement new ways to engage priority communities, stay informed about local issues, and collaborate on community engagement strategies. Administrative support includes tracking and reporting on grassroots efforts, supporter engagement, and campaign requirements. The role may also involve supporting communications staff with social media and email content, maintaining social media presence, and reporting to the PP Federation of America and state teams. Other duties as assigned, with a commitment to PPPSGV's Code of Conduct and ethical standards.
