CBI Health is Canada's leading community healthcare provider, with a national interdisciplinary network of over 2,500 healthcare staff and professionals. They focus on innovating services to provide better recovery and support for clients, prioritizing client needs and utilizing a diverse healthcare team to offer data-driven solutions and improved health outcomes. CBI Health’s Community Rehabilitation Services team operates across Ontario, treating clients who have experienced mental stress injuries and motor vehicle accidents, with the goal of returning them to pre-accident function. The Traumatic Psychological Injury program involves Occupational Therapists working with clients, such as first responders, who have experienced workplace trauma. This includes conducting in-vivo exposure therapy, behavioural activation, and facilitating trauma processing, coping, and return to function, incorporating novel interventions like virtual reality. The Complex Auto program involves OTs assessing and treating clients with various physical (musculoskeletal, orthopaedic), cognitive (TBIs, concussions), and psychosocial impairments related to motor vehicle accidents. This community-based role includes in-home and hospital discharge assessments, ergonomic assessments, concussion treatment, cognitive rehabilitation, and mental health treatment, providing comprehensive 'start to finish care'. Occupational Therapists have the flexibility to focus on one area of practice or manage a mixed caseload.
