About The Position

CBI Health is Canada's leading community healthcare provider with a national network of over 2,500 healthcare staff and professionals. They focus on innovating services for better client recovery and support. Their Community Rehabilitation Services team in Ontario treats clients with mental stress injuries and those involved in motor vehicle accidents, aiming to restore them to pre-accident function. The Occupational Therapists in the Complex Auto program assess and treat clients with physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities, handling both non-CAT and CAT files. This role involves in-home and hospital discharge assessments, ergonomic assessments, concussion and cognitive rehabilitation, mental health treatment, and other interventions. CBI Health has established strong relationships with auto insurance providers and legal representatives, allowing OTs to focus on client-centered clinical work. The program offers 'start to finish care' from acute injury stages to return to pre-MVA function, making the work more meaningful.

Requirements

  • Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • A valid driver’s licence and have access to a reliable vehicle (travel up to 1-1.5 hours radius)
  • Willingness to provide in-vivo OT treatment in a variety of settings, including client’s homes, workplaces, and/or in the community
  • Passion about your profession, commitment to ongoing professional development, and dedication to providing excelled client care
  • The ability to thrive in a self-directed and independent environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and analytic skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Empathy and an effective ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat clients presenting with various physical (musculoskeletal, orthopaedic), cognitive (TBIs, concussions) and psychosocial abilities, including non-CAT and CAT files.
  • Complete in-home and hospital discharge assessments.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments.
  • Provide concussion treatment.
  • Deliver cognitive rehabilitation.
  • Offer mental health treatment.
  • Perform several other interventions.
  • Provide 'start to finish care' to clients from acute stages of injury through to return to pre-MVA function.
