About The Position

Provides education for the children diagnosed with diabetes and their families both on an inpatient and an outpatient basis. Provide patient education on an outpatient basis as needed when seen in clinic. Support the Endocrinologists in clinic visits with patients and families ensure the family is comfortbale with the child's meter. Educators attend community events as needed to promote the Diabates Center, coordinates with school nurses to ensure they are educated in Diabetes management and serves as a community resource for education and training.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics or diabetes education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in community outreach and education.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
