About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Community Mortgage Bank Consultant (SAFE) to originate mortgage loans within assigned bank branches. In this role, you will collaborate with branch leadership, participate in branch huddles, and mentor employees to increase their knowledge of mortgage products and processes. You will exercise independent judgment when conducting outbound calls to existing and prospective customers regarding mortgage loan products and complete associated tracking activities. You will interact with customers to understand their needs and provide high-quality customer service, informing them of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage programs and analyzing and offering mortgage loan products based on their needs. You will process low to moderately complex loan applications, review rates and terms within guidelines, and maintain a high standard of client satisfaction and quality through timely and proactive customer communication. Continuous pursuit of Wells Fargo training offerings is expected to increase knowledge of company products, policies, procedures, and underwriting requirements. You will adhere to policies, underwriting requirements, compliance requirements, and loan procedures, collaborating with fulfillment partners to meet client needs throughout the origination process. Staying informed of mortgage industry trends and developments in the assigned market and developing and maintaining a high degree of visibility for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the marketplace are also key aspects of this role. This SAFE position has customer contact and job duties which may include the offering/negotiating of terms and/or taking an application for a dwelling secured transaction. As such, this position requires compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results. Individuals in a SAFE position also must meet the Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z (LO) outlined in the job expectations below.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • SAFE registration at the time of employment
  • Meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies
  • Meet applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness and criminal background standards
  • Acceptable background investigation results
  • Ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening, if necessary

  • Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies.
  • A current credit report will be used to assess your financial responsibility and credit fitness, however, a credit score is not included as part of the evaluation.
