About The Position

Under the supervision of the Mental Health Program Manager, the CMHC provides clerical/clinical coordination with multiple agencies and providers in the community in order to connect patients with appropriate Behavioral Health care and resources programs. This position will be the primary liaison between individuals and organizations who provide Behavioral Health services. It involves creating and maintaining relationships with private practice and agencies regarding counseling, psychiatric, and care coordination services across community partners. The role also includes representing the community behavioral Health program in sponsored events and activities, assisting patients in the referral process, maintaining scheduling for multiple providers, requesting documents from community agencies to coordinate care, and managing feedback from patients and providers. The CMHC acts as the first point of contact for mental health patients and provides relief for day-to-day clerical support to administrative office activities for the behavioral health team. Adherence to all mental health protocols regarding the management and compassionate care of patients undergoing behavioral health crisis is essential. The role contributes to the creation of policies, procedures, and workflows for the CMHC position, demonstrating awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of activities and events as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the populations served. Accurately determining patient needs and matching those individuals to the appropriate level of care is a key responsibility. The position requires the ability to adapt and respond with communication strategies to stabilize, slow, or reduce the intensity of a potentially high stress situation. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable attendance and consistent community engagement
  • Experience working in the Behavioral Health and Substance Use field
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records
  • Highly self-motivated and able to function independently.
  • Must be fiscally focused and mission driven.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience of website management preferred.
  • Previous experience with non-profit organizations is preferred.
