Community Marketing Manager

Mach9San Francisco, CA
Hybrid

About The Position

At Mach9, the Community Marketing Manager will create new ways for our customers to connect with Mach9 and with one another. Customers are already asking for a place to exchange ideas, get support, and learn from their peers; you’ll build that space and give them useful reasons to return. This role is ideal for a community builder who has created sustained participation, builds trust easily with users, and can turn those relationships into programs people value. You’ll own the community experience across online conversations, in-person events, and the relationships that follow. Success means a network that increasingly grows itself: members answering members, advocates bringing in their peers, and new customers arriving through referrals.

Requirements

  • Experience building or growing a customer, professional, alumni, membership, or interest-based network
  • Evidence that you have created repeat participation, not only promoted one-time events
  • The ability to earn trust and build lasting relationships with specialized users
  • Clear writing and confidence communicating through online groups, email, social media, and live events
  • Strong creative judgment and the ability to turn customer activity into engaging content
  • The organization and independence to take programs from initial concept through execution and follow-up
  • Curiosity about surveying, civil engineering, geospatial technology, and infrastructure

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting attendees or growing participation without relying on an established brand
  • Photography, graphic design, filming, or video-editing skills
  • Prior work in construction technology, industrial software, engineering, GIS, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Choose the right home for Mach9’s customer community, then design how it works: onboarding, moderation, and the activities that keep people coming back
  • Build sustained participation by starting useful conversations, answering questions, and helping members learn from one another — then turn what works into repeatable playbooks
  • Develop customers into advocates, contributors, speakers, and sources of referrals
  • Plan and run recurring meetups, user groups, advisory sessions, and other customer programs, owning recruitment, programming, logistics, and follow-up
  • Build partnerships with professional organizations like state surveying associations to create joint in-person events and grow a broader friends-of-Mach9 network
  • Write customer stories and promote events in the customer newsletter and social content
  • Advocate for customers and bring the questions, feedback, and ideas shared by customers to the product, engineering, and customer success teams
