About The Position

Community Living Instructor (DSP / Supported and Independent Living) is a part-time and on-call position providing individualized, person-centered support in Supported Living Services (SLS) and Independent Living Services (ILS) programs. The role involves providing hands-on support and life skills instruction to adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities, empowering them to build routines, connect with their communities, and live fulfilling lives. The position offers flexible schedules across San Francisco, San Mateo, and Alameda County, including day shifts, evening shifts, overnight sleeping shifts, and weekends. This role is ideal for students, caregivers, or those with other part-time jobs. An after-hours on-call rotation is also available with a stipend.

Requirements

Must be able to pass fingerprint background check
CPR/First Aid certified (within 30 days - training available)
Clean DMV record and auto insurance (only if transporting clients)

Nice To Haves

Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, mental health needs, or aging-related concerns
Understanding of Supported Living Services (SLS) or community-based supports

Responsibilities

Support with meal preparation, hygiene, budgeting, shopping, and personal care
Accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities, and local resources
Travel training and safety awareness education
Maintain clean and healthy home environments
Provide respectful, individualized care aligned with each person's SLS goals
Document client progress and report concerns as needed
