The Community Life Manager II oversees programs, staff, and services at Mercy Housing properties, The Hub and Neighborhood resource center with the mission and core values of Mercy Housing, the national program model for Resident Services and HOPE SF core priorities. Supervises Community Life Managers, Specialists, and Housing Success Specialists. Community Life Managers will supervise staff at residential buildings and other community spaces in the neighborhood. Each location will adhere to a different program model and will provide service-connection and programs for Mercy Housing residents and the broader community. This position is hybrid eligible. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years in community development or social service program development.
  • Two (2) years in program and staff management.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Work collaboratively with others in a team environment, respecting and valuing the perspectives and contributions of others, including residents.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of verbal, writing and listening skills.
  • Perform basic computer functions using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge in data collection and analysis.
  • Effectively motivate and supervise other staff.
  • Develop staff skills in support of resident and community programs and initiatives through training and mentoring.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Master’s Degree.
  • MFT, MFTI, LCSW, or LCPC license.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure successful implementation of core program/service components as outlined in the Mercy Housing resident program model, HOPE SF priorities, or other program model as may be required by regulations, public and/or private investors/funding sources, and/or special needs of the population being served.
  • Supervise all assigned Community Life staff in the delivery of programs/services and the evaluation of outcomes.
  • Conducts audits to determine quality of program delivery and consistency with program model.
  • Supervise staff that provide service-connection and programming at Mercy’s residential buildings, community center, and neighborhood resource center.
  • Develop and facilitate trainings for Community Life staff provide tools needed to offer service connection and programming at various locations for diverse populations.
  • Support the planning and execution of community-wide events that empower residents and strengthen community cohesion.
  • Utilize community engagement best practices to facilitate neighborhood-wide gatherings and meetings.
  • Provides strategic input and imitative for program supervision and improvement.
  • Locate, develop, and maintain networks and partnerships with relevant service providers, community and religious organizations, business and educational institutions and assist/train/direct Resident Services staff to do the same.
