About The Position

Woodcraft Rangers is seeking passionate individuals to join their community and serve youth. Founded in 1922, Woodcraft Rangers is a progressive organization dedicated to guiding young people toward purposeful lives through a holistic framework that develops body, mind, spirit, and service. They offer TK-12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, specialty enrichment, summer learning, early learning, environmental and social justice, college access, and inclusion services for youth with disabilities. They also provide a college and career advancement program for staff. Woodcraft Rangers serves over 30,000 youth annually across numerous schools in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• FBI & DOJ Livescan clearance
• TB Test clearance
• 6 months experience supervising a group of children in a school or recreational setting OR 6 units in child development.
• Must successfully pass an assessment test evaluating skills in math, reading comprehension, and spelling
• For ABC Unified School District (Cerritos) Candidates ONLY - 48+ College Units or ABC Unified Paraeducator Test Completion.

Responsibilities

• Support after-school programs by developing positive relationships with program participants, their families, and the community.
• Oversee the daily sign-ins and sign-outs of all participants.
• Ensure the communication board is up to date with program-related information.
• Keep families informed about program events, schedules, and upcoming field trips.
• Manage the accuracy of after-school program rosters and daily head counts.
• Ensure students are in a safe environment (physically and emotionally).
• Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity.
• Support club leaders and site coordinators with sign-in/out procedures and parent communication during sign-out.
• Ensure attendance rosters are accurate and complete daily.
• Monitor participant attendance and engagement.
• Organize and maintain participant registration forms, site information binder, and site directory board.
• Assist site coordinator with collecting and organizing information for reports.
• Assist the team with site-based events.
• Serve as a substitute or fill in for a club leader or team member during breaks or lunches.
• Build positive relationships with program participants, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Comply with all applicable safety requirements and emergency protocols.
• Attend off-site field trips as required.
• Participate in staff development trainings, approximately 15 hours spread over multiple weekends/intersessional days throughout the spring.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
