About The Position

The Community Interviewers will meet with medical school applicants to learn more about them and their ability to provide care to the Lehigh Valley community. Requirements

  • Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and mouse to complete online interview evaluations.
  • Ability to attend in-person meetings and training sessions.
  • Ability to lift or carry light materials (e.g. laptop, folders, or documents).
  • Ability to hear and understand spoken conversations in individual and small-group interview settings, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with applicants and admissions staff in person and through virtual platforms.
  • Ability to read printed and electronic documents, including applicant materials and evaluation forms.
  • Ability to maintain attention, concentration, and observation during interviews to accurately assess applicants.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated interest in higher education, healthcare, or community service preferred.
  • Previous interviewing experience preferred.
  • Experience with using the Zoom Platform and troubleshooting challenges that might arise during a meeting.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a minimum of 2 interview days each month during the interview season of September to March.
  • Complete an online interview evaluation to provide feedback on each medical student applicant.
  • Interview up to four medical student applicants in a semi-structured small group.
  • Complete admissions training prior to admissions season.
  • Attend admissions retreat in-person at the Temple/St. Luke’s School of Medicine in September.
