We are looking for a currently enrolled in or a recent graduate(within the last two years) of an accredited college or university. Candidates working towards a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Public Administration, or a related field are preferred. This is work related to college course work in city management performing assigned duties under the direction of a professional staff member(s) to gain career-oriented knowledge and experience. Job Description Duties/Responsibilities Supports the Communications team with day-to-day tasks including drafting press releases, social media content, internal communications, and other public-facing materials. Assists with media monitoring, research, and compiling information for communications projects. Observes and learns from experienced communications staff to build familiarity with departmental processes, messaging standards, and public information practices. May assist with maintaining the department's social media presence and digital communications channels. Provides administrative support to professional staff, which may include helping with meeting coordination and records management. May conduct research to support communications campaigns, public outreach efforts, or special projects. Performs related duties as assigned.
