Community Impact Intern, Latino Equity Fund
About The Position
The Latino Equity Fund (LEF) Intern will work closely with the Community Impact Officer (CIO) to support the fund’s community impact strategy. The Intern will work with the CIO to provide project management and research support for LEF’s programmatic work. The Latino Equity Fund sits within the Boston Foundation’s Philanthropy Group and works closely with all departments within the Boston Foundation. This role will work in a hybrid environment with a mix of in-office and virtual work for a total of 10-15 hours per week during the 2026-2027 school year (16 weeks for Fall 2026 semester, 16 weeks for Spring 2027 semester). Flexibility for school schedules.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience working in a professional setting
- Ability to work effectively across diverse backgrounds
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently
Nice To Haves
- Experience with nonprofit fundraising and/or programming preferred
- Interest in the goals of the Latino Equity Fund and familiarity of the needs facing Greater Boston’s Latinx community preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate simultaneous projects and successfully prioritize among multiple tasks within a fast-paced initiative
- Careful and methodical approach to tasks and attention to detail
- Proactive, participative work style and the ability to receive and act on feedback
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred
- Able to maintain a professional and collaborative approach
Responsibilities
- Provide support for event planning and day-of logistics for community events
- Participate in meetings with community partners
- Support communication with community partners
- Conduct research on Latinos in MA relative to nonprofit infrastructure, housing, education, healthcare and workforce development, wealth gap and demographic trends, and civic engagement
- Coordinate the grantmaking review process, including external communications
- Serve as a liaison between LEF and community partners
- Conduct research on nonprofits and the broader nonprofit sector to identify potential partners and issues affecting the Latinx community
- Maintain accurate records of grantee and community partner contacts
- Provide administrative support for the Poderosas Fellowship program
