The Community Impact Coordinator at The Pryde, an LGBTQ+ affirming senior community, is responsible for developing and implementing educational, social and empowering on-site programming that enhances the quality of lives for our residents while improving overall property operations. They provide resources and referrals for residents to community agencies and programs that will help meet the residents’ needs and aid them in being successful tenants. They ensure compliance with any and all reporting agencies. The Community Impact Coordinator at The Pryde will also understand programs and services designed by or for LGBTQ people, seniors, and people experiencing housing instability. The Pryde is now open and occupied! Developed by Pennrose in partnership with LGBTQ Senior Housing Inc., the community features 74 brand-new LGBTQ+ affirming apartments for seniors aged 62 and older in Boston’s Hyde Park neighborhood. The development is a historic rehabilitation of the 120-year-old former William Barton Rogers School, thoughtfully reimagined to create an inclusive, welcoming community. The Pryde offers rent-restricted studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments available to individuals and households at a range of income levels, including 30%, 50%, 60%, 80%, and 100% of Area Median Income. Several apartments are set aside for individuals experiencing homelessness. The pet-friendly residence boasts modern amenities, including two private resident lounges and a sunroom. Additional shared spaces include a large event area, gallery space, a resident cinema, classrooms for educational programming, and on-site laundry facilities. Residents also enjoy access to an on-site fitness center.
