About The Position

The Community Impact Coordinator is a key member of the Detroit Lions Foundation & Community Impact Team, which conducts the heart-work of the organization. This high-functioning team works collaboratively and focuses on 5 core pillars (Food Access, Literacy, Cancer Support, Military Support, and Social Justice), NFL initiatives and emergency response need. This multi-faceted position will report to and work closely with the Manager of Community Impact & Legend Relations. The Community Impact Coordinator will have an active role with the Legends Community in addition to coordinating events and activations during the season and throughout the year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in events, hospitality, community/public engagement and/or business administration, preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, exercise flexibility as needed, communicate changes or updates in a timely manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent at building and maintaining professional relationships and strong ability to cultivate a sense of community internally
  • Self-starter who is excited to add value to their team and organization
  • A valid Driver’s License and a good driving record
  • Will adjust schedule as needed to meet work goals and time constraints.
  • May require work out of both the Ford Field Management Office and the Meijer Performance Center

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to connect with, and relate to, all levels of staff, management, clients, and vendors.
  • Strong computer skills including experience with MS Office products, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint with the ability to learn new programs.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates assigned community awareness and social responsibility initiatives supporting the Detroit Lions core pillars.
  • Provide support for key Legends Community initiatives, including Legend Homecoming planning and staffing Legend appearances as needed.
  • Attend & assist with monthly Peer Pride meeting and annual Peer Pride Training.
  • Develop and execute community-related fan engagement initiatives. Gather and analyze feedback/data to identify opportunities for improvement. This includes managing fan communications and responding to inquiries in a professional and timely fashion.
  • Track engagement metrics, prepare reports for evaluating program effectiveness and participant satisfaction.
  • Coordinates community awareness and social responsibility initiatives for Detroit Lions Family Association (DLFA) members ensuring close alignment with the organization's priorities and determining areas of opportunity for involvement.
  • Assist with departmental initiatives/activations as needed.
  • Attend all Detroit Lions season and playoff home games supporting the Community Impact Initiatives.
  • Balances and reconciles invoices for accurate tracking.
  • Staff Legends appearances as needed.
  • Assist with planning Player & Legend community events and creating event recaps.
  • Assist in data entry and scheduling for Helper Helper database.
  • Assist with managing Lions Legends CRM.
  • Supports in projects and organizational tasks, as needed (e.g., data entry, correspondences, invoice processing, scheduling, event logistics, assist with concur).
  • Coordinate all administrative details for visitors, including greeting and escorting all scheduled visitors, coordinating conference rooms, food and beverages, calendar requests, conference rooms, A/V, travel, and other activities as needed. Monitor status of all visitors while on-site.
  • Occasionally assist Football Operations with DLFA-related community activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
