About The Position

The San Diego Unified School District is seeking a Community Home Education School Assistant for Mt. Everest Academy, a K-12 alternative school. This role involves providing assistance to the instructional program in community homes and classrooms at Community Home Education School (CHES) sites. Requirements

High school diploma/GED.
A passing score on the San Diego Unified School District Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) OR an Associate's degree (or higher) OR 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university.
Your related education and experience must be clearly represented in the work history and education section of your application.
Personal appearance and language patterns will provide a satisfactory example to pupils.
Submit a completed online employment application by the closing date.
Application must include all required attachments, current and previous employment history and education.
Answer all application questions thoroughly, clearly, and concisely.
List every school district, county office of education, charter school, other educational institutions, or state special school where you have been employed, regardless of your length of service.
Provide the email address for that employer's Human Resources or Personnel Office for every educational employer listed.
List contact information for three references, preferably from a current or previous supervisor.
Attach Verification of Education (Copy of a degree or official transcript).
If coursework was completed outside the US, provide a Foreign Equivalency Certification.

Nice To Haves

Completion of post high school courses in Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or related field is desirable.
Conversational and/or written skills in a specific foreign language related to the needs of the assignment may be required for some positions.
