About The Position
This trainee position will provide the ideal candidate with a fully paid for CHW Certification. This is a part-time role located in Northern St. Louis County, running from September 2026 through September 30, 2027. The hourly rate is $21.00. The host site is St. Louis County.
Requirements
- Must be eligible for CHW certification upon completion of the program.
- Must be a resident of St. Louis County.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with families or in a community setting.
- Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, Hmong, Ojibwe) are a plus.
- Knowledge of local resources and services in Northern St. Louis County.
Responsibilities
- Support families through outreach and home visits
- Work alongside Public Health Nurses
- Connect families with local resources and services
- Provide education, support, and referrals during pregnancy and early childhood
- Build trusting relationships within the community
- Help improve access to care for families on the Iron Range
