About The Position

This one-year apprenticeship program at Northwestern Medicine will provide each participant with both experience and training. The program consists of on-the-job training while attending courses to complete your Community Health Worker (CHW) Certificate. We are seeking candidates that have either completed or in process of obtaining a CHW certificate.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Product suite (e.g., Word, Excel, OneNote and PowerPoint).
  • Current enrollment in Community Health Worker certificate program or recently completed within last 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine.
  • Successfully complete projects and work tasks assigned.
  • Develop a working knowledge of hospital operations to a degree that allows for the successful completion of projects supporting a variety of hospital operations.
  • Develop working relationships with staff and management that allows for successful business interactions across all levels of the organization.
  • Participation in activities designed for the development of apprentices during their assignment at Northwestern Medicine.
