The Community Health Nurse Supervisor position with the Department of Health offers a chance to guide important public health efforts that improve lives in local communities. Requirements

• Three years as a Community Health Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of community health nursing experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Must pass a background investigation.
• Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure investigations of reportable diseases through approved systems and procedures
• Direct clinical practices that support consistent delivery of public health services
• Lead ongoing assessments to identify public health needs and priorities
• Guide staff in working with local agencies and organizations to meet community health goals
• Provide direction, training, and performance evaluation to maintain a competent workforce
• Track and review public health program data to improve outcomes for assigned populations
