About The Position

The main purpose of this part-time contractual position is to provide environmental assessments and in-home education to reduce the impact of lead and other environmental toxins on vulnerable low-income children through the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention and Environmental Case Management Program. The employee in this position must have a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health Education, Community Health Education or Health Science.
• Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 18 credit hours in Public Health Education, Community Health Education, Health Science or related behavioral science and one year of experience in planning, developing, implementing and promoting health education projects for the required education.
• Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Educator and Community Health classifications or Health Educator and Community Health specialty codes in the Public Health field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental assessments and in-home education to reduce the impact of lead and other environmental toxins on vulnerable low-income children through the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention and Environmental Case Management Program.

Benefits

• Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract, and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.
• 25% of the premiums for medical and prescription coverage (including dependents) will be paid by the employee, with the State of Maryland subsidizing the remaining 75%.
• Option to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance (employee responsible for full premium).
