About The Position

This position entails providing one-to-one support to a person with a developmental disability in their home and community. You must have patience, a personable demeanor, excellent communication skills, and be able to effectively work with minimal direct supervision. At In Flight, Inc., we empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to reach for their hopes and dreams, and support a meaningful quality of life. We’re looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to join our Community Habilitation program. As a Community Habilitation Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will work one-on-one with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities, providing support at home and in the community to help them build independence and life skills. This is a flexible, fun, and rewarding role where you can make a direct impact. The people we support are unique, with the ability to grow, develop, and be empowered. It takes a special person to help provide that opportunity. If you're ready to make a difference, we’d love to have you on our team! Cases are in New Paltz and Saugerties. This is a per diem position.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Pass all NYS and OPWDD background clearances
• Attending a week and a half orientation in Red Hook
• USE OF YOUR OWN VEHICLE -Mileage reimbursement available

Nice To Haves

• Working with Individuals that have IDD preferred but not required
