Howard County Recreation and Parks operates Roger Carter Community Center, Meadowbrook Athletic Complex, North Laurel Community Center, Gary J. Arthur Community Center, Capitoline Center and Harriet Tubman Cultural Center. This position performs technical level recreation services work ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Center. This position provides key support and customer service for early morning, night and weekend hours including the opening and closing of the center, processing registrations and customer service duties when full-time staff may not be present. Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency. This is a contingent position, meaning that it is not a part of the Howard County Classified Service and does not accrue County service time for the purpose of calculating any service benefit. This position is paid hourly and may work a varying number of hours per week, based on the availability of funding and a continued need. A contingent employee is only eligible for fringe benefits required by State or Federal law.
