About The Position

The Community Engagement Manager leads Ronald McDonald House Oregon’s Portland-based community engagement strategy, focusing on cultivating meaningful relationships with corporate partners, volunteers, and local businesses to expand our presence and foster increased support for its mission. This role proactively seeks opportunities to build community awareness through our McDonald's partnership, third-party fundraising events, strategic outreach, and impactful storytelling.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in community engagement, nonprofit development, or related field.
  • Demonstrated success in executing fundraising campaigns and achieving financial goals.
  • Experience in cultivating corporate and community partnerships and managing volunteers.
  • Proven experience in community engagement, fundraising, or donor relations, with a strong record of building and maintaining successful stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a warm, professional demeanor.
  • Strategic thinker with a high degree of attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a mission-driven culture and contributes to community-centric thinking.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accountability and a high level of discretion.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills to effectively convey Ronald McDonald House’s mission to diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, including coordinating events, managing volunteers, and leading outreach initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/Event Software (Greater Giving, Raiser’s Edge NXT, and Canva).
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with local McDonald’s restaurants to promote the Round-Up for Ronald McDonald House initiative and steward local store crews to encourage and drive revenue through this program.
  • Manage the Round-Up for Ronald McDonald House incentive program, increasing participation and support from the local McDonald’s community.
  • Identify, cultivate, and support third-party fundraisers in the Portland Community (e.g., community-initiated events, awareness campaigns).
  • Manage all approved third-party event applications and inquires.
  • Represent Ronald McDonald House at third-party events and serve as the primary point of contact for hosts.
  • Own and track third-party event revenue goals; provide regular reporting on progress.
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Manager to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers for third-party events, ensuring effective support and successful execution.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of major in-kind community drives, such as the Holiday Toy Drive, Snack Drives, and Send Love, ensuring successful collection and distribution of donations to Ronald McDonald Houses in Portland and in the Regions.
  • Work with community partners, volunteers, and donors to coordinate in-kind donation efforts, alleviating expenses, and maximizing impact.
  • Represent Ronald McDonald House at networking events, community gatherings, and other public forums to raise awareness, build relationships, and promote our mission in Portland.
  • Conduct community presentations, lead tours of Ronald McDonald House facilities, and create opportunities for stakeholders to engage with Ronld McDonald House’s mission, fostering goodwill and excitement about our work.
  • Recruit, develop, and oversee Ronald McDonald House Teen Board activities and meetings.
