About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Advancement Officer, the Community Engagement Manager leads Catholic Charities' community engagement strategy with a focus on volunteer systems, community partnerships, outreach logistics, and engagement operations. This role provides oversight of third-party fundraising initiatives and supports the coordination and execution of food distribution across Catholic Charities locations and delivery models. The Community Engagement Manager also provides cross-functional support to the Development Department, including event support, partner coordination, and internal engagement logistics. This position ensures that community engagement efforts align with agency priorities, service delivery needs, and advancement goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in community engagement, volunteer management, outreach nonprofit operations, or related work
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating volunteers or engagement activities
  • Strong interpersonal and public-facing communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office/Windows)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
  • Valid NM driver's license and clean driving record
  • Commitment to confidentiality and privacy practices
  • Minimum Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree preferred, in Non-Profit Administration, Social Services, Business, or related field, in lieu of associate degree high school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of experience in similar role or field

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement the agency's community engagement strategy, including annual workplans and performance goals.
  • Oversee volunteer program operations, including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, training support, supervision, and recognition.
  • Develop, steward, and maintain community partnerships; support partner coordination and manage MOUs as appropriate.
  • Support and coordinate agency-wide food distribution operations across sites and service models, including expansion of distribution frequency and capacity.
  • Coordinate in-kind donation drives based on program and client needs, serving as a primary point of contact with the Warehouse team.
  • Support basic tracking and reporting; Warehouse staff maintain primary intake and inventory processes
  • Provide outreach coordination and engagement support for the Housing Resource Center, including volunteer and partner engagement.
  • Oversee third-party fundraising systems, including annual goals, tracking, compliance, reporting, and alignment with agency policies and brand standards.
  • Prepare and provide regular reports on volunteer engagement, food distribution support, third-party fundraising progress, and community engagement activities.
  • Attend meetings, support agency-wide initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned.
