About The Position

The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for expanding community awareness, strengthening partnerships, and increasing access to Child Enrichment’s programs across the nine-county service area. This role leads outreach and engagement efforts, supports prevention initiatives, and enhances the organization’s visibility through strategic communication and community collaboration. The Coordinator serves as a key ambassador for Child Enrichment and works in close collaboration with the Prevention Director and Development team to ensure outreach efforts align with organizational priorities, funding goals, and community needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred
  • Experience in community outreach, program coordination, communications, or a related role
  • Strong public speaking, relationship-building, and organizational skills
  • Experience managing social media, website content, and digital communications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, and social media platforms
  • Ability to travel between Augusta and Thomson offices and attend occasional evening/weekend events

Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement & Outreach: Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase awareness of Child Enrichment’s programs across the nine-county service area
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, faith-based organizations, civic groups, and community partners
  • Represent Child Enrichment at community meetings, events, and conferences
  • Identify opportunities to expand outreach efforts, particularly in underserved and rural communities
  • Build and maintain pipelines for community partners and training participants
  • Prevention Support & Community Education: Coordinate and support community trainings on child abuse prevention, trauma-informed care, and resilience
  • Assist in expanding prevention programming across service areas
  • Plan and implement monthly resiliency activities
  • Track training participation, feedback, and community reach
  • Marketing, Communications & Brand Management: Manage and maintain Child Enrichment’s social media platforms and website content
  • Create and distribute a monthly newsletter highlighting programs, impact, and upcoming events
  • Develop outreach materials (flyers, social media content, campaigns) in collaboration with Development
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication platforms
  • Support awareness campaigns, including Child Abuse Prevention Month
  • Internal Collaboration & Coordination: Collaborate with CAC, CASA, and Prevention teams to align outreach efforts with program needs
  • Support coordination of outreach events, trainings, and community initiatives across departments
  • Assist in connecting community partners and resources to appropriate programs
  • Volunteer & Community Support: Support recruitment and engagement of community volunteers and advocates
  • Assist in coordinating volunteer involvement in outreach events and prevention activities
  • Help build relationships that strengthen long-term community involvement
  • Development & Fundraising Support: Partner with the Development team to promote fundraising events and campaigns
  • Support storytelling efforts by gathering impact stories and outreach data
  • Assist in identifying and cultivating community relationships that may lead to donor engagement
  • Data Tracking, Reporting & Evaluation: Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, trainings, and community engagement efforts
  • Track key performance indicators (e.g., number of trainings, participants reached, partnerships developed)
  • Assist in gathering data and narratives for grant applications, reports, and organizational dashboards
  • Provide regular updates on outreach outcomes and community needs
