The Community Engagement Coordinator supports the Stephens Family School of Medicine in developing and strengthening relationships with communities, partners, and stakeholders across British Columbia. This role coordinates engagement initiatives, supports partnership activities, and ensures community perspectives inform the School’s programs and priorities. Working collaboratively with internal teams, Indigenous Health Stewardship, and external partners, the Coordinator helps deliver inclusive, culturally safe, and meaningful engagement practices aligned with the School’s commitment to reconciliation and equity. Key responsibilities include supporting consultations, events, relationship management, project coordination, and engagement reporting. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to the growth of a new medical school by fostering connections, enhancing community collaboration, and supporting initiatives that advance accessible, community-informed healthcare education. The ideal candidate is a relationship-focused and detail-oriented professional with experience supporting community engagement, partnerships, and project coordination. They have strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse communities, internal teams, and external stakeholders. The successful candidate understands equity, accessibility, cultural safety, and reconciliation principles and applies them to engagement activities. They are adaptable, proactive, and skilled at managing multiple priorities, coordinating events, maintaining accurate records, and supporting initiatives that strengthen community connections and advance the School’s priorities.
