About The Position

AECOM is actively growing the Impact Assessment & Permitting (IAP) team and is seeking a Manager for the Community Engagement and Communications Team for various offices within the Environment Business Line in Ontario. This is a backfill position. The successful candidate will be responsible for team management and have a Manager Mindset (balance mindset between delivering great work and supporting your team). You will operate ethically and with integrity, prioritizing quality outcomes and safety of the team. This is a hybrid leadership position requiring regular in-office attendance. In addition to leading and developing their direct team, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain a visible and engaged presence within the office as a leader in the organization. Regular in-person interaction is important to support employee development, strengthen relationships across departments and business lines, foster collaboration, contribute to office culture, and participate in leadership activities that advance the broader business. Candidates must be based within commuting distance of an AECOM office and able to maintain a consistent in-office presence. This position is not eligible for full-time remote work.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 8 Years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Environmental Planning or a related field with a strong focus on community engagement.
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and administer all staff and projects carried out by those directly reporting to this position.
  • Develop, manage, and deliver business strategy and tactics, high-quality proposals, interdisciplinary teams, and documents and report deliverables.
  • Proactively promoting a culture of producing high-quality work and Health & Safety within the team.
  • Collaborate with other AECOM offices, practices, and business lines.
  • Oversees recruiting, interviewing and orienting new staff members.
  • Monitoring and evaluating staff performance.
  • Managing a team’s billable hours and forecasting utilization requirements.
  • Setting strategic long and short-term team goals that align with the environment business line and encourages growth of the practice.
  • Motivating and inspiring team and facilitating personal career development and growth.
  • Communicating job expectations to staff.
  • Conducting and / or encouraging external training and seminars for team for continued skills improvement.
  • Fostering a safe, inclusive and productive working environment.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level staff.
