About The Position

CTF Illinois is seeking a Community Employment Specialist to assist individuals in employment/volunteer placement within the community. This role involves contacting community-based employers to secure paid employment and volunteer educational opportunities for referred individuals. The specialist will research and recommend community employment sites and activities, complete vocational assessments, conduct site evaluations, and provide follow-up support. They will also conduct career exploration and identify vocational opportunities by reaching out to employers and matching employer needs with individual goals. Additionally, the role includes assisting individuals with job applications, interviews, training in work skills, providing work-related educational information (such as the American with Disabilities Act), and teaching appropriate behaviors and social interaction. The specialist will provide on-site support to workers and employers, coordinate transportation, and perform case management services, including maintaining progress notes, contact logs, and other required documentation according to policies and procedures. This position may also involve acting as a backup job coach and assisting the Associate Director of Community Services and Production with marketing and development of Community Employment. Secondary duties include regular attendance at work, trainings, continuing education, and meetings, working cooperatively with team members, and exercising good judgment, decision-making, and regard for safety.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Able to pass Illinois Background Checks
  • Must be flexible and thorough, able to cope well with the unexpected, meet deadlines, attend to detail with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work cooperatively with and under the direction and supervision of a variety of persons

Responsibilities
