About The Position

Come join EAC Network as a Community Educator for our Nassau County Child Advocacy Center! Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and youth? EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit agency dedicated to empowering and supporting over 80,000 people through 120 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is seeking a motivated Community Educator to join our Nassau County Child Advocacy Center. Salary: $50,960 per year Location: 15 Grumman Road W in Bethpage - This position is expected to travel within the county to different locations to offer trainings to schools, businesses, and tabling events. Schedule: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm ET - with evening and weekend hours as needed Primary Purpose of Job: The Child Advocacy Center Community Educator is responsible for providing child abuse and intimate partner violence prevention and awareness trainings to students, professionals, caregivers and community members throughout Nassau County.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Level degree in Social Work, Mental Health or Behavioral Sciences preferred
  • Community education experience and experience working with children preferred
  • Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as Google drive applications, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email.
  • Knowledge of Child Abuse, Child Sexual Abuse and reporting requirements preferred.
  • Excellent presentation skills, experience providing presentations preferred.
  • Evening and weekend end flexibility required.
  • Must have NYS driver’s license and access to an automobile.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and fully comprehend training materials to ensure delivery of effective presentations to target audiences in school and community settings.
  • Conduct outreach to social services providers, schools, community members, and other relevant organizations in Nassau County to provide trainings and awareness materials.
  • Develop and disseminate awareness materials to target areas in Nassau County.
  • Conduct social media campaigns and ensure video content is accessible to people that are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Travel to locations around Nassau County to provide in person trainings.
  • Maintain accurate database of professional contacts, presentation attendance, and presentation and outreach provided.
  • Complete data collection tool after each training conducted and submit to Supervisor.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, agency presentations and trainings and related events
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly statistical and annual reports as required by funding source.
  • Perform all other relevant duties as determined by the Program Director and EAC NETWORK Administration
