About The Position

The Community District Manager oversees all operations within the assigned probation and parole office, including the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of staff. Manages offender programs related to work, education, and housing in the designated area. Acts as a liaison to correctional facilities, criminal justice partners, local officials, service providers, non-profits, and other key stakeholders. Ensures compliance with Department policies and state statutes. Travel to statewide meetings and after-hours duties, including being on call and attending community or public meetings, are required. May perform related duties across multiple locations as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Five (5) years or more of responsibility in human services or criminal justice positions
  • Two (2) years or more of experience working with corrections administration and/or corrections clients
  • Two (2) years or more of supervisory or management duties
  • Must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
  • Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates.
  • Must provide relevant information regarding substantiated incidences of sexual abuse or resignation during a pending investigation of an allegation of sexual abuse.
  • Candidates who have any felony conviction record or who, within the past five (5) years, have been placed under supervision or sanctioned for a misdemeanor conviction must receive a waiver from the Commissioner of Corrections in order to be considered for employment.
